Thee Sacred Souls are another artist discovered after their track ‘Can I Call You Rose’ was played on BBC6Music. I think it was Craig Charles who gave it a blast on his afternoon show, doesn’t really matter, what does matter is that this is a cracking album.
Thee Sacred Souls have produced a brand new, classic 70s soul album. 12 beautifully created tracks, all falsetto vocals over lush stings with a smattering of organ/horns and a tight rhythm section.
I reckon this album is perfect for warm, sunny days but it is still cool in the middle of the thunderstorm going on outside my window right now!!!
Someone said the new album was filled with ‘souldies’ - a pretty decent description. If you are a fan of Smokey Robinson or The Four Tops this should be right up your street, or more appropriately, your sun drenched, Californian highway.
Was lucky enough to bag the Dinked Edition of the album which comes on a record that looks as good as the music sounds.
Tracks To Try: ‘Can I Call You Rose’, ‘Lady Love’, ‘Happy And Well’.
