Released to coincide with the release of the last James Bond film, the compilation has been updated to include Adele’s 'Skyfall', Sam Smith’s 'Writing’s On The Wall' plus Billie Eilish’s new track, 'No Time To Die'. This is the limited edition, triple gold vinyl release - I'll hold my hands up and confess that I was expecting the record to be the colour of baby food but they have made a good fist of it.
Everything you could want is on here from The John Barry Orchestra doing the iconic theme to the absolute, stone-cold classics like 'Goldfinger' by Dame Shirley Bassey, 'Live And Let Die' by Paul McCartney & Wings and 'A View To A Kill' by Duran Duran. It isn't all good though, the album has every theme tune included so there is also tosh like 'All Time High' by Rita Coolidge - a terrible, terrible track.
Also included are two of the greatest movie tracks of all time, 'On Her Majesty's Secret Service' by Barry's orchestra and 'We Have All The Time In The World' by the legendary Louis Armstrong in what was his final ever recording. For me, this album is worth buying for those two songs alone, thankfully you also get a lot more included.
From 60's gold like 'You Only Live Twice' by Nancy Sinatra, 70's worldys like 'Diamonds Are Forever' from Ms Bassey, 80's bangers like 'The Living Daylights' by A-Ha, 90s belters like 'Goldeneye' by Tina Turner, 00s power like 'You Know My Name' by Chris Cornell to 10's award winners like 'Skyfall' by Adele there is something here for everyone...as long as you like Bond themes.
Tracks To Try: Any I've mentioned apart from that dirge from Coolidge.
