Wrest are a wee band with a big heart! Their second album ‘End All The Days’ finally arrived after many months of delays (this is the norm now for vinyl for smaller bands as the manufacturing plants prioritise yet another run of ‘Rumours’ etc.) but it was definitely worth the wait.
For those unaware, Wrest are an Edinburgh band in the style of Frightened Rabbit or (a much dialled down) The Twilight Sad. Guitar based indie rock with vocals delivered with a pronounced, proud, Scottish twang.
This album is filled with songs about relationships, from those teetering on the edge, those being fought for and those that have been lost. It is a rich seam to mine and Wrest do it very well.
If you fancy grabbing the record there might be some left via their Bandcamp store - be quick, the LP is limited to just 500 physical copies.
Tracks To Try: ‘End All The Days’, ‘Second Wind’, ‘Bold’, ‘Medicine’, ‘To Arms’, ‘Lost On You’.
