NOW PLAYING: AT THE BBC BY SLEEPER...

Updated: Jun 15

Released early as part of the 'We Love Record Stores Day' that took place the other weekend, this takes me back to uni, Newcastle Brown ale and wearing band T-shirt’s as a uniform (favourites included an Echobelly one with a pair of scissors on and a Wonderstuff one that just said ‘Idiot’ on the front in big letters).

The session tracks were recorded between 1994-1995 for John Peel, the Evening Session and Mark Radcliffe's BBC Shows and have been released for the first time on limited to 1,000 copies sexy blue vinyl.

This album includes the song ‘Bedside Manners’ which I love but haven’t heard in moons (I had to double-check, it was the B side to ‘Delicious’) and ‘Package Holiday’ which was on the ‘Sale Of The Century’ single along with a cover of ‘Atomic’ by Blondie.

I love Wener’s breathy vocals and how bright the band sound. Proper time and a place album this.

Tracks to try; Inbetweener, What Do I Do Now or Bedside Manners.
